About the Company:
We are seeking a transport clerk for our Ipswich hub.
The Ipswich facility was opened in July 2020 and acts as a regional hub to enable Headlam Group trading businesses to service customers in the SE quadrant of the UK.
About the Role:
The role reports to the Transport Supervisor, Ipswich and carries a breadth of responsibility leading the following functions:
- Health and Safety Compliance, maintain training app in line with HFD policies and Auditing colleagues checks
- Scheduling drivers to runs ensuring all runs are covered, communicating to drivers via email once complete
- Communicating effectively with other areas of the business to ensure customer and business needs are met, to include customer services and warehouse.
- Defect reporting and planned maintenance controls
- Driver debriefs to include feedback on any areas that can be improved
- Some forklift work required adhoc Training provided
- Goods returned process working alongside warehouse
- POD management, scanning and filing
- Keyholding responsibilities
Ipswich Dimensions:
- 25 Radial class 2 vehicles 14-18T
- 2 X 40T articulated vehicles
190,000 sq ft facility
Operations team at + 100 people
2,750 order lines handled per day
The ideal candidate will:
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience working in a fast-paced warehouse and transport environment operating multidrop deliveries
- Knowledge of Tacho Master/Mantis or similar systems
- Knowledge of H&S best practices, policies and procedures
- Strong organisation skills
- Computer literate with familiarity to ERP / Transport systems
