Job Description

Hadfields Trade Counter is part of Headlam Group, one of the largest floorcovering distributors in not only the UK, but Europe too. Our customers range from independent retailers to flooring contractors.

Key tasks include:

• Ensure trade counter customers are served quickly and efficiently.
• Ensure telephones are answered promptly, and orders taken are accurate and priced correctly.
• Process e-mail and faxed orders.
• Develop excellent product knowledge.
• Maintain stock levels on shop floor and samples are up to date and topped up regularly.
• Some warehouse duties, including stock transfers and booking in goods from suppliers.
• Support the Trade Counter manager in developing sales.
• Learn sales techniques and adapt to your own personality.
• Accompanied working with existing representatives in the field.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will be expected too:

• Be highly motivated and keen to succeed and progress within the business.
• Have an excellent attendance record in previous roles.
• Have the ability to communicate with customers and colleagues at all levels.
• Be able to work well within a team and be proactive with their day-to- day duties.
• Be well-organised, methodical and calm under pressure.
• Have a good understanding of IT systems including Excel, Word and E-Mail, (training will be given for our in-house system).
• Be educated to a good standard with basic GCSE grades and ideally ‘A’ level grades, although an excellent work ethic and willingness to learn is more important.
• Be flexible to meet the needs of the business.

Knowledge of flooring products is not essential, however would be an advantage, as would experience working in a similar enviroment.
