Headlam is a group comprised of fifty four businesses with activities aligned to the marketing, supply and distribution of floorcoverings.  The group has been established during the 1990's and 2000’s through a series of acquisitions in the UK, the Netherlands, France and Switzerland and has emerged as Europe’s leading distributor of floorcoverings.

In the UK, the group’s forty nine businesses hold a unique position in the supply and distribution of floorcoverings to independent retailers and flooring contractors. The businesses collectively are the largest supplier of floorcoverings in the UK and give them an unparalleled ability to provide an extensive variety and range of residential and commercial product into many different geographic segments.

Due to the way the UK floorcovering distribution market operates, there is much to be gained from operating a portfolio of businesses with regional trade brand identity whose success is based predominantly on a reputation for excellent local service. Working alongside the regional trade brands are Headlam's businesses with a national trade brand identity. The national trade brands have allowed Headlam to achieve leading positions in a variety of product and market sectors where distribution across the UK is the key to achieving success.

Each of the Headlam trade brands enjoys the benefit of having its own dedicated management team which enables the business to concentrate on meeting the particular needs of their customers. The management team of each business is supported by the group's facilities and systems to ensure a consistent level of service and delivery.

Headlam operates its Continental European network from four key sites. The three Dutch businesses, Lethem Vergeer, Interplan and Silvester, are based in Zutphen, a town located in the Eastern part of the Netherlands.  They are all national businesses supplying the Dutch market with residential floorcoverings.  The national French distributor, La Maison du Sol (LMS), operates from two main warehouses and twenty one regional branches to service its customers' requirements for residential and commercial flooringcovering. Belcolor, the group’s Swiss distributor of residential and commercial flooring, is located in St. Gallen in East Switzerland.
